Programme Overview
As an investigation officer, you use interviews extensively to establish the facts of the case or complaint you are looking into. A good interview will have a positive impact on the outcome of your investigation.
However, if you do not have the right interview skills, or apply the wrong interview techniques, not only would the interview results be rendered useless, it could also cause serious negative consequences for your organisation. Therefore, it is important for you to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to conduct interviews, and learn how to apply them.

Asrin Bin Abas
Asrin started his career with the Singapore Police Force in 1993 and had acquired vast experience in interviewing people from all walks of life both as an uniformed officer and an investigator. In 1999, he joined the Internal Security Department where he contributed significantly in the operations against the Jemaah Islamiyah terrorist network. His excellent interpersonal skills had achieved 2 objectives simultaneously - to gather vital information pertaining to the other members and operational matters of the network and rehabilitation of the detainee to return to society. He was awarded Operational Excellence by the Minister of Home Affairs.
