Who Should Attend:
You are a Singapore Public Officer who has taken on a Director role in the Public Service for the first time within the last one year. You lead a department/division and are part of your agency’s senior management team.
Depending on your agency, you may be of Grade MX10 to 9 or equivalent.

Programme Overview
The Directors’ Developmental Experience (DDE) aims to help prepare first-time Directors for the leadership responsibilities and expectations of being leaders in the Public Service. Aligned with the Director Leadership Competency Framework, the DDE is designed to equip you with the key capabilities to successfully navigate your transition into this expanded leadership role.
Learning Outcomes
Through the DDE, you will:
- Gain an appreciation of your role in context and what this means for your leadership
- Acquire practical insights and skills to support your transition into directorship and to enhance your effectiveness in leading yourself, teams and organisations
- Establish a strong peer network for professional and emotional support
- Expand your individual capacity to lead as part of the Public Service Leadership Corps

The DDE blends various learning modalities and
content to provide a comprehensive learning experience, contextualised to the
needs of a first-time Director. It provides numerous opportunities for you to
explore your role as a Director from the personal, organisational and systems
perspective in a way that is timely, holistic and collaborative.
What to
expect
Approximately four months long, the DDE comprises four Check-ins held three to five weeks
apart, during which you will acquire the knowledge, skills and mindsets needed
to be an effective Director in the Public Service. Between the Check-ins, you
will also attend 1-on-1 coaching with a professionally trained coach,
access specially curated e-Resources to learn at your own pace and convenience,
and practise what you have learnt in the DDE back at work.
