Programme Overview
Crucial Conversations® Focused is a customised version of the Crucial Conversations® programme designed specifically for officers without a supervisory role in the Public Service.
If you are an individual contributor who wants to speak more candidly to your peers and Reporting Officers to achieve the results that you want without hurting relationships, this programme is for you.
The programme will cover a subset of the Crucial Conversations model. You will learn the necessary crucial skills to stay in respectful dialogue even when you are angry, sad, or hurt, in order to preserve the relationship with those you are speaking to.
Learning Outcomes
- Speak up more candidly to your supervisors and peers when faced with challenges at the workplace – e.g., being unable to handle the workload, perceived unfair treatment, dissatisfaction with peers’ work and behavior, etc.
- Approach difficult and sensitive topics in a more respectful and productive manner while maintaining amicable working relationships with peers, supervisors and department heads
- Contribute to the creation of an open, candid and more innovative culture within your teams and the entire organisation
