Programme Fees and Grants
PSD will subsidise $516.00 of the total programme fee before GST. The grant is valid from 01 Apr 2025 to 31 Mar 2026. Please note that you need to complete the programme in order to qualify for the grant.
Programme Overview
Ready to be a mentor at the workplace or provide a frame to your existing mentoring capabilities? This 2-day face-to-face foundational programme is designed for experienced middle managers and directors who are responsible for developing individuals and teams within the organisation, or who are interested in fostering a developmental climate through mentoring within the Public Service. While no prior experience in mentoring is required, this programme will be more useful for those who are about to embark on a mentoring relationship or are already functioning as a mentor, either formally or informally.
Explore the role of mentorship in building leaders in organisations, delve within to gain a deeper understanding of your uniqueness as a mentor, and learn core skills to build your mentoring capabilities. This practical programme will help you understand the fundamentals of what makes a mentor-mentee relationship successful, offer useful tools and frameworks that you can apply in your context, and help build confidence in your ability to mentor effectively.

- Gain a deeper understanding of the role of a mentor and the scope of mentoring
- Inquire into the conditions that make a mentoring relationship work, and the pitfalls to avoid
- Enhance self-awareness in mentoring through the cultivation of personal reflective spaces
- Begin building intentionality in your mentoring approach in order to meet the needs and goals of the mentees
- Learn to apply core skills involved in mentoring with the intention to more effectively empower and nurture mentees
